Roche Harbor, Washington

Morgan & Sam’s destination Roche Harbor wedding in Washington was such a glorious wedding to photograph. As a photographer it is always a joy to travel to shoot wedding. Photographing a wedding in a new place with different surroundings is always exciting. This destination wedding was definitely not an easy travel. All long the harbor were sea planes landing. Ferries and car rentals all needed to be considered in a big way so they wouldn’t be in the shot. The ferry from Anacortes to Roche Harbor was on a fickle schedule. It was hit or miss and we definitely had to be on time to catch each leg of transport. In the end it was a fun story to share and definitely worth it to photograph such a gorgeous wedding. We think the photography and videography came out beautiful.

Morgan and Sam’s gorgeous seaside harbor wedding was one filled with happiness and joy all around. From start to finish the couple came in with ear to ear smiles and gratitude. We started the day with gorgeous hues of blues and cream tones in the flat lays. Adding florals and fun to the stationary set up was a great way to show off the gorgeous paper goods. The water color rendition of Morgan and Sam’s venue was gorgeous. All the details were so pretty thanks to the team of New Creations Wedding design.

The couple shared their first look on the dock where the sea planes landed. It was a beautiful place overlooking the skyline of trees and serene natural surroundings. We took the couple around the Roche Harbor grounds for couples photos. After couples photos we went right in to group family photos. Morgan and Sam eagerly awaited patiently for the moment to say I do.

Morgan and Sam had their wedding ceremony on the lawns below the hotel. Accompanied by both her parents the bride walked down the decorated isle. White hydrangeas and greens decorated the ceremony site styled by Oak & Fig Florals.

Reception and dinner were to follow in the main hall. As sunset approached the bride and groom invited guests to enjoy a short walk down to the waters edge. Every night the hotel celebrates a traditional “colors ceremony” was held on the green lawn. The staff lower every night at sunset as the national anthem plays. A cannon shot booms through the harbor to celebrate the end of the day.

When guests returned to the reception, they were greeted by chocolate martinis styled on a wall of greens. They enjoyed music played by the dj and celebrated the night in fun fashion.
