Epic view of couple walking at Sutro Baths Engagement photos

Alec and Effie were such a dream couple to work with for their San Francisco engagement session. An adorable couple that clearly felt very natural in front of the camera held no tensions in their demeanor when posing in front of the camera. Effie so beautiful with her rich dark brown hair smiled lovingly at her fiancé Alec as they casually walked around the San Francisco staple engagement spots. Alec and Effie met in Golden Gate Park so San Francisco was the perfect place to document their engagement photos. The two shared a mutual love for coffee & pastries and traveling. They were engaged last year during Covid in their privacy of their home.

We began our session in the Presidio at Fort Point. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge are by far the best at the landmark spot. July and August are usually the months that I worry about engagement sessions in the city of SF because of the weather, however we got so lucky with the best weather that day. The sun rays peered through the Golden Gate Bridge and added the right amount of sparkle to Effie’s beautiful diamond engagement ring. The Couple had fun walking around in the sun for a bit then we headed out to Lovers’s Lane to continue our stroll through the trees.

Weekdays are always the best time for an engagement session as there tends to be less people around. Lover’s Lane was practically empty…there was a slight haze in the air but the light was beautiful. I loved how the couple chose to wear a more casual outfit and felt it suited their laid back personalities quite well. They both went with the flow and seemed so chill….how did I get so lucky to be their photographer?

After a light stroll around under the trees, we drove down to Lands End at my all time favorite spot Sutro Baths for our sunset photos. You can read more about some of my favorite SF Engagement spots. My favorite part about the old ruins are all the colors in the broken cement. I love how aqua blues and oranges play well with the colors of the ocean and sky. In July the sun sets more off to the the right of the ruins so my timing was perfect in catching some cool sun flares as the snuggly pair stood out on the long walkway ledge. It was that magical light every photographer looks for. Watching the birds fly above them filled the empty sky with movement. I am so excited to photograph Alec and Effie’s wedding next spring at Mountain Terrace.
