Epic hero shot of a bride and groom eloping at the San Francisco City Hall

Aysha & Ziad were a calm and cool couple with so much style and elegance. They both had an effortless demeanor being photographed at the gorgeous City Hall in San Francisco. We lucked out that day and really had the entire building to ourselves to wander about and take our time with portraits.

With the pandemic and so many couples looking to elope, the San Francisco City Hall offers just the right amount of classic San Francisco elegance and romantic architecture for timeless images. Aysha knew she wanted film for the wedding so we talked about me bringing out the Contax 645 and pairing it with my new Sony Mirrorless. All the film images I shot were taken with Portra 800 which offered a bit more light as the City Hall tends to be a bit more dim in terms of lighting. With the extra speed of film we were able to get some contrast without it being too dark.

Working with this couple was easy and perfect with just the right amount of precious details. Aysha Brough a gorgeous Mrs. Box ring box and she wore an incredible one piece jump suit made by designer Nadine Mirabi Her look was paired with an incredible lush bouquet by Le Bouquet SF. And I can’t forget to mention her gorgeous classic Prada shoes that were simple and sophisticated. Ziad, the groom, wore a very chic black and white Tux that was fitted to his form keeping his look dapper and classic. The couple was a stylish and romantic pair that I will never forget.

We began their ceremony under the dome above the staircase. The couple had a short and sweet ceremony where they exchanged their vows and rings and were pronounced husband and wife by the court judge. One married we headed up to the 4th floor to capture portraits with the epic light on film. We were sure to include all the quintessential shots of the grand staircase, the stain glassed windows and of course the dome from across the way. It was a very special day with Aysha and Ziad. The couple enjoyed their time then whisked off to dinner looking like a million bucks! I was so happy to have worked with such an amazing couple.
