When Colie & Daniel asked me to photograph their wedding I happily Stepped in to support them and document their special day. I knew this wedding was going to be a special one when I heard that Erin Rugala from Events By Pins And Petals was involved in the planning and design. Her ideas for a quaint celebration in the very home where Colie grew up in was beautifully designed and inspired by the sprawling property and lush gardens surrounding the Spanish style home. I knew that this design was compatible with my photography style.
As guests arrived at the beautiful estate, they were instantly mesmerized by the attention to detail. The highlight of the cocktail hour was the adorable trailer bar serving special made cocktails and champagne. Each guest had fun ordering from the mobile bar then enjoyed relaxing on the beautiful vintage conversation sets shaded with overhead umbrellas.
The Ceremony was held in the front lawn with two stand alone floral arrangements made to feel organic and whimsical where the couple were married. The backdrop was a stunning view of the mountains and the property’s very own vineyard.
The ceremony chairs were an assortment of old vintage chairs with colorful parasols for each guest to shelter from the sun. The deconstructed floral arch was a festive array of color reminiscent of fresh picked wildflowers. From garden roses, scabiosas, ranunculus, daisies and more, the vibrant and colorful palette stood out bringing a joyful feel to the styling of the wedding.
Colie and Daniel had known each other since childhood, so the two were effortless to photograph.
Together they displayed a beautiful level of affection for one another and got teary eyed a few times for the excitement of the day. We all took a walk through the private vineyards on the estate where the two enjoyed some quiet moments together. At sunset I was able to steel the couple for some sweet photos with their adorable dachshund Koa who was about the most photogenic pup ever. The two were over the moon to have Koa in some of their couples portraits and adored being loved up by the newly wed couple.
The reception was breathtaking! Guests made their way to the back of the home for the reception with a quick stop to recharge with more champagne styled to perfection on wooden ladders accentuated with candles and more floral arrangements. With a glass in hand guests then walked up the candle lit Spanish tiled steps to the outdoor patio where their dinner tables awaited them. Tables were elegantly decorated on the tile deck under the gorgeous arched architecture. A traditional Spanish Paella was served for dinner. A beautiful green table runner laid over a cream textured linen paired nicely with lavender candles and pops of yellow and purple colored florals made an appearance in the luscious long garland centerpieces. Guests enjoyed Spanish guitar musicians playing in the background and we were all transported to Spain for the evening.
After the couple cut their cake, which was two tiers of a simple stucco style buttercream adorned with real edible wild flowers to stay true to the overall wedding theme, we snuck away for one last time to catch the last bit of light coming through the property’s breaktaking mature trees.
