Known around the world for its well formed long ride waves, Rincon Point also known as “Queen of the Coast” was the perfect place for celebrity pro surf legend and star of MTV’s “Surf Girls” Mary Osborne to say “I do” to Hollywood stunt man Lance Gilbert. The couple new it was going to be the ride of their lives. With a baby on the way the expecting bride wore ear to ear smiles as she and her betrothed exchanged vows cliffside at a private estate in Ventura California. Elegantly styled in a form fitting dress Mary ocean showed off her cute little baby bump and brought a graceful and poised manner throughout the day. Lance so proud and lovingly doted over his new wife in what turned out to be a coastal heartfelt wedding by the sea. The wedding was featured on the local news the next day with all of our favorite photo and video moments! We also had the pleasure of seeing this lovely wedding featured on STYLE ME PRETTY’S front page!
The private home where the ceremony was held had a gorgeous blue lagoon infinity pool where Blue Note Weddings shot some of their couple’s portraits. Mary & Lance share a common love for travel and surf in destination places around the world! With a baby on the way, the couple are excited to rasie their little one surrounded by family, friends and good surf! Having shared a mutual love for vintage cars, the couple had a 1965 red falcon as their transport car and arrived in style at their reception.
The bride wore a very sparkly 15 ½-karat diamond encrusted necklace that was an heirloom from national best seller book “The Necklace”. The book profiles The women of Jewelia, where 13 women’s lives and the remarkable stories of how the necklace changed their lives.
The decor was very elegantly designed by Diana Dorsey who so perfectly executed a romantic and modern rustic feel. The inspiration in the design was to tie in the natural elements of the blue ocean and cappuccino mountains and add in complimentary colors that would pop encouraging feelings of spring and summer. Citrus elements were added to the tables to bring a bright and tangible aspect against the rustic wood tables.
Blooms by Sirce designed florals incorporating colors that would reflect this years Pantone color yellow. Everything was blooming in perfect season with giant Dalias, Ranunculus, Roses and lightly added greenery creating fresh and spring forward floral arrangements.
As a photographer documenting couples and how they act with one another is apart of our job. Mary and Lance embodied a natural calm vibe with the excitement of parenthood on the horizon. Mary was a beautiful bride embracing her baby bump and carrying herself in a very confident and sexy way while Lance exuded excitement and love for his new bride. The couple were absolutely flawless in front of the camera and required very little direction because they were living in the moment of their wedding day.
The couple shared their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James. A key moment that brought guests to their feet was when Lance picked up Mary and Spun her around the dance floor then gently put her down and kissed her baby bump. It was so beautiful….check out the highlight reel of their beautiful day!
Mary & Lance had initially been introduced by some mutual friends. For months, they both stalked each other on social media, until one gorgeous sunny day at Solimar Beach, they locked eyes for the first time. Mary never believed in “love at first sight.” However, her gut filled with butterflies the minute she met Lance and deep down she just knew. Mary was immediately drawn to his personable smile and incredibly positive energy. In her brain, Lance immediately became her “Silver Fox.” Lance remembers Mary walking to greet him barefoot with wild salty beach hair, a colorful bikini and her sun kissed body wrapped in a sarong. He was quickly attracted to Mary’s flirtatious smile and strong outgoing personality. The day consisted of playing on the beach and immediately falling in love. On November 14, 2020, Lance surprised Mary and proposed on one knee on the side of helicopter in Catalina. In several boats below, were their family and friends cheering them on together as they jumped “two feet in forever” into the ocean……It was the most magical proposal!
